Valency is primarily the online library of the architectural photography of Timothy Soar, here you will find the complete record of each commission as it is made. Designed as a resource for clients Valency can be used for reference, editorial enquiry, research and marketing. Unlike an edited portfolio, images can be seen within the context of each commission; the process of exploration, discovery and resolution is manifest, the dialogue established between client and photographer is clear.
The team is based at the Lionworks building in London’s Hackney Wick at the centre of the capitals fastest growing artistic community on the very edge of the rapidly changing 2012 Olympic site. Comprised of the individual talents of Timothy Soar, Alison Catterall, Alan Williams, Patrick Lindblom, Matthew Booth and Morten Odding, Valency is constantly growing, learning, evolving, this website serves to illustrate where we are and to signal where we want to be.
Engaged in constant peer review, collaborative projects, intellectual and technical research our desire is to use Valency to connect ideas to people, illustrate enquiry with experience and render desire as tangible image. We strive to take complex ideas and emotions and produce work that is simple, legible, real and approachable.
